One of my Facebook friends asked how to make a slideshow in javascript, and it didn't take me long to put together a script for the javascript fade effect.
The rotating it self, of whatever elements, such as images or articles from the site, should be fairly simple for most people to make.
The script was posted at Brugbart, including an in-depth explanation, and a working Vision attached.
This was my actually first attempt at creating something using timed events, but it was pretty easy after reading a few tutorials on setTimeout.
Normally i won't recommend that people use javascript, but this is not for layout purposes. Stuff like this is intended to enhance a site, or make it more dynamic. One way to make a site more dynamic and interesting, is to create scrolling headlines, or dissolve between the latest articles on the front page.
