I'm currently developing a WYSIWYG editor in JavaScript, which i can integrate into my CMS solutions.
This is what i would consider advanced JavaScript, and keep in mind that i haven't worked much with JavaScript in the past. Its my first serious project in JS, i already got it working in IE and firefox.
The biggest problem is the inconsistency in browsers, because what might work in one browser, may not work in another.
That is the question, there are quite many free WYSIWYG editors in JavaScript, so at first sight there wouldn't be a reason for me to re-invent the weal. On the other hand, its something i would consider essential practice for any serious developer.
Finally i don't want to sell something i didn't make on my own, it wouldn't be right.
I'm not planning on explaining the details here, but i might post a Tutorial about it over at Brugbart when I'm ready. As it shows, document.designMode is simply set to "on" for an iframe, the rest is about smaller browser specific coding, which should be easy enough to get right in a few days or so.
